What's Wrong with Religion?

Dennis McCallum
Mark 12:38-44

Jesus' final confrontation with the religious leaders was the most furious one. What is Jesus so upset about that he resorts to name-calling?

Do Good People Go to Heaven?

James Rochford
Mark 10:13-31

What does it take to get to heaven? Jesus gives a surprising answer to a young man who asks him this very question, indicating that it's not what you do, but instead who you trust.

The Heart of the Issue

Conrad Hilario
Mark 7:1-23

In this passage, we will look at a passage where Jesus confronts the religious thinking of his day that prevented people from seeing their problems clearly and experiencing God's grace. Not surprisingly, we see the same religious thinking pervading the thinking of our own day. Join us as we study this passage and examine parallels it contains today.

Jesus Takes on Tradition

Dennis McCallum
Mark 2:18-3:6

Although traditions can be fun (like Christmas traditions) in historic Judaism and Christianity, tradition has too often replaced God's word. This is the "problem of wineskins" that Jesus takes on in Mark 2 and 3.

Total Help for Total Need

Gary DeLashmutt
Ephesians 2:1-10

The more we understand and appreciate what God says about our plight apart from Him, the more we appreciate the rescue He has provided through Jesus. In this passage, the Apostle Paul describes our total need, God's total help, and how to respond to His total help.

Adopted into God's Family

Ryan Lowery

The Family of God - Prodigal Son

Ryan Lowery
Luke 15:11-32

We are living during a time of great confusion and fear. In times like this, we wonder where God is? How can God allow things like this to happen? Jesus gives us a clear example where we learn what God is really like. He is our loving father who allows us the freedom to make mistakes but welcomes us home into His embrace when we choose Him. We are the family of God with a loving father, and when times are tough we need to come together as God's people to show His mercy and His love, to those who feel isolated and alone.

Rahab's Faith and God's Grace

Scott Risley
Joshua 2:1-21

In the story of Rahab we see a picture of faith, God's grace, and redemption. Despite a deeply troubled past, Rahab believed in God and her faith led to her rescue. The same can be true for anyone who puts their trust in God and accepts Jesus Christ as their savior.

Triumph!

Jim Leffel
Romans 8:31-39

Paul draws a conclusion to the incredible truths he has laid out in Romans 1-8--that God has provided victory over the penalty for sin and the power of sin. He declares that God is "for us," having given us His son as a sacrifice, and continuing to give to us generously and freely. He is full of goodness and, if we have received His forgiveness, full of approval for us, which should challenge our thoughts that God's plans are not good or that our sin and failure is greater or more significant than our justification through Christ. Paul concludes that God's love triumphs over all things, including any risks we might face in life. This allows us to live boldly, with love for others and optimism.
