Error
God welcomes into the kingdom those who approach Him like a child, not those who try to earn it. For those who receive His forgiveness, He provides everything needed in this life and rewards in the next life.
When Jesus returns for us who believe, our earthly bodies will be transformed into heavenly bodies suitable for our new life in heaven. Because we have this confidence, we should live lives abounding in the work of the Lord until He takes us home.
God is not indifferent to the pain and grief we suffer at the death of a loved one. Because He is powerfully acting even when we cannot see behind the scenes, we do not grieve like the world grieves. We have a hope that sustains us as we look to Him who is the resurrection and the life.
Why would you want Jesus to lead your life? If you have trusted Him for eternal life, then you can trust Him to be a strong, personal, sacrificial, wise and humble leader. Why would you settle for less?
John teaches that Jesus is the Good Shepherd and He is The Door to the sheepfold that leads to eternal life. All the "sheep" that know Him, recognize His voice and follow Him. He leads them to an abundant life here and eventually to eternal life with Him.
Jesus came to give light to the world but the religious leaders refused to see that Jesus was who He said He was, the Son of God who could forgive sins. Instead of acknowledging their Savior, they picked up stones to throw at Him.
The perils of denying the Light of the World are judgment, loss of freedom and a darkened mind. For those who have an open mind and receive the Light, they have forgiveness, regained freedom and an enlightened mind.
Jesus offers the bread that never spoils. The crowds wanted earthly bread but Jesus wanted to give them something much better, eternal life.
James explains why the people desired to follow Jesus and why they stopped following Him. They desired their temporal needs fulfilled but Jesus desired to meet much bigger needs, eternal needs.
