How to Lament

Ben Foust
Psalms 43:1-5

Following the psalmist's example, we can learn how to lament to God and bring our complaints to Him.

Repentance

Ben Foust
Psalms 51:1-19

Psalm 51 shows us that no matter how far we stray from God, we can turn to Him in repentance and be forgiven. This is possible because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross.

Pray Your Fears

Ben Foust
Psalms 27:1-14

Because of God's knowledge and power, He is capable of handling our fears. Psalm 27 shows us how to give our fears over to God instead of remaining paralyzed by our own anxieties.

David a Man After God's Heart?

James Rochford
2 Samuel 23

In spite of David's grievous sins, he was still considered a man after God's heart. He knew how to talk honestly with God. He pointed people to God. He understood and accepted God's grace.

Praying for Your Children

Patrice McCormac
2 Samuel 23

Patrice McCormac talks about challenges to praying for our children and how to overcome these various hurdles.

'Pestering' God

Lee Campbell
Luke 18:1-8

If the unjust judge gave the persistent widow her justice, how much more will God, a just judge, give us justice? This parable teaches us to keep praying to God and to keep waiting on God.

Why Keep Praying?

Patrice McCormac
Luke 11:5-13

We should we be persistent in prayer because being aware of the needs of others, and our inability to meet those needs, drives us to go to God with our urgent and sincere prayers. God has the resources we don't, and as our Father, He is eager to respond to our requests.

David On the Run

Scott Risley
1 Samuel 21-25

When the waiting on God becomes weeks, months, even years, will you take matters into your own hands or will you actively wait upon the Lord? Will you trust God to bring you spiritual friends while repeatedly seeking God in prayer? Will you refrain from repaying evil with evil while remembering the times God has come through?

Three Responses to God's Goodness

Patrice McCormac
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Regardless of our circumstances, we are called to have three responses to God's goodness. First, we are challenged to rejoice always in Christ no matter how good or bad are the circumstances. It is a choice we make to see God at work in the midst of our circumstances. Second, we are to pray without ceasing. We are to have an ongoing conversation with God throughout the day. Third, we must give thanks in everything, but not for everything. We have only to look at the cross to see our source of thankfulness.
